First time trying this place and what a treat!! Was a last minute decision to try here at 9pm on Friday night with some friends. We were welcomed in and seated comfortably straight away, was fairly busy there. We ordered drinks which were fine. We ordered popadoms to start and for mains we ordered a Korma, a chicken Balti, a lamb Pathia and a lamb Savwala. We all ordered naan’s/Chipattis and rice. Everyone loved their meals and we all tried each others. Mine was the sagwala, safe to say it was the best I’ve had so I’ve officially found my new Indian restaurant and take away. All of the Staff were all so lovely, we had a nice chat with a couple of members. Over all we rate it 10/10 it was a lovely evening. And very good value for money.

The English Raj is a safe bet if you're looking for Indian food in the Bridgwater area. The meals were very tasty and came in reasonable quantities. The place itself is nicely decorated and clean. The staff was pleasant and very welcoming. Finally, it is quite cheap for what you get! So all in all, a very good experience!

This is another one of those places in Bridgwater that has been there since the 70's and the food is same now as it was then, excellent. In the same vein as Pak Lok Chinese takeaway in Bridgwater that has also been around since the 70's, others come, they are all good at the start then usually fade into obscurity. Its the consistency that make these places special.

My favourite Indian restaurant. Their food is absolutely delicious and I feel they are more traditional curries compared to other restaurants in town. We order different curries every time we go so we've tasted a few and never felt disappointed. The prices are really reasonable. The staff are really attentive and just generally nice people. I do not have anything negative to say about The English Raj. I would recommend this place every time.

Fantastic meal. Great service and lots of dishes to choose from, food arrived quickly and was delicious as well as extremely generous. Restaurant nicely arranged and all very comfortable and relaxed. Would certainly recommend and visit again.
